Before you start your journey, make sure you meet these basic requirements for renting a vehicle with Grab A Rental Car.
You must hold a valid full English driver’s license or a certified translation.
A cash or card bond of $500 is required for vehicle security.
A valid credit card is needed for rental payment.
Drivers must be at least 21 years old to rent and operate our vehicles.
All our rental cars include Standard Motor Vehicle Insurance at no extra charge. This insurance carries an excess liability (or deductible) of $2,500 excluding GST.
This means that in the unfortunate event that the rental vehicle is involved in an accident or is damaged, you are liable for the first $2,500 excluding GST.
As mentioned above, all our rental vehicles include Standard Motor Vehicle Insurance for no extra charge. However, you can choose to reduce your excess liability to $500 excluding GST by selecting the Reduced Excess Cover option for an additional $20 per day.
By selecting this option, you reduce your maximum excess liability to $500 excluding GST.
Please Note: As the renter, you are liable for the excess regardless of whether you are 'at fault' or not. After the vehicle has been repaired and the costs are finalized, GRAB A RENTAL CAR will refund the difference between the total cost and the excess amount charged, if applicable. The excess is the maximum amount you will be charged.
